Re: rose help please

Kitty- I got my Sombrueil from High Country Roses (own root- not grafted). http://www.highcountryroses.com/

In 2 years it has easily grown 12 feet and this year is filling in nicely. I love this rose- beautiful full petaled and lovely scent. And, it is the only rose I have without aphids right now, and it doesn't get all balled up when it rains on the blossoms.

Kitty,
My sister had 2 sombreuil growing on a beautiful gazebo that was probably 12-15 ft tall. They have covered it beautifully. I have a picture if I can get it sent I will. It was so wonderful... scented and like a cabbage rose.
Can you find one somewhere else? I bought one early this spring at Home Depot and then bought another one from a friend that grows old roses.

Subject: [CHAT] rose help please

Hi all!
I'm trying to find a good white climbing rose. I need this for a large
arbor, so 5-7 feet isn't sufficient. Sam Kedem says White Dawn is 7-10, but
local rose seller says only 6-8 and that no white gets taller than that.
Besides, Sam is out of New Dawn, Sombreuil and his other tall white and the
rest of his whites are shorter.

Any suggestions for a tall white with reasonable disease resistance?
