I have chelated iron and have no problem using it on the daylily, but nothing else is showing signs of deficiency. I don't mind playing around with it, but don't want to possibly expose the others to potential infection...

If you're getting enough moisture, try some greensand or other organic iron source. Mine do that sometimes. Not sure why. I top dress mine w/ greensand 4 times a year now and it helps. But have you researched all the other options that 'could' have
happened?
Frost, husband with roundup, animal sleeping nightly on that side of
the
plant?

I have a large number of healthy happy daylilies, but today I noticed
something new, and I suspect ominous, on one, purchased healthy last
year. The leaves on half the plant are yellow. I looked for insects
and
found none, and saw no evidence of rust. Is this serious? Enough to
warrant digging and destroying the plant? I certainly do not want to
endanger my others. Help!
