RE: newspaper article
They should of advertised it as a garden club plant sale. A few odds and
ends in the flea market area, but mostly just plants, and common ones.
Did buy a few things and I know I will regret it!
Had some annuals reasonable, obviously home grown but will help fill the
planters. (6pks for a quarter, some larger ones for a buck or .50, can't
beat it).
Then I saw it... and went OH NO! Walked around it, toured the rest of the
sale in the hopes someone would buy it.... but nope, it was still there as I
had to walk past it on the way out..... 5ft bamboo plants sitting in a
bucket. Lady claims they are hardy here, but didn't know what kind.
So yes, they came home with me, but they are NOT going in the ground!!!!!
Got some huge pots, if they survive the winter great, if not, oh
well....(only paid 5 bucks for the bucket full).
Since I got there as it opened, did notice an hour later when I was leaving
that most of the tables were now bare, so they really did have a good turn
out as well as buying customers.
