There are a lot of advantages living in a small town. Our electric company's office is in a town 24 miles north of us, and one of the workers came from about 40 miles away. They are always right on top of every emergency.

Scary, Zem, Thank goodness it didn't start a fire. At least the power company came promptly and fixed things. When something like that happened on our road last year it took them eight hours to get our power back on even though the downed tree was cleared away in a couple of hours. It turned out that my neighbor and I were the only two houses affected. A large pine had fallenover on the wires and shorting out our shared transformer. I don't know whythe tree was leaning, but it appeared to be healthy. The three of us (my neighbor, her husband and I) stood outside watching the electric company personnel (2) cut the tree apart, and we had power restored by 10:00 p.m.************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
