Alan is awesome, and a very nice guy. He's always willing to entertain plant nuts, and will go out of his way to remember names and faces.
Whenever I've visited his home garden, he's often gotten out a shovel and given me a chunk of a plant that I admired, or a cutting.
I think I need to rejoin AHS. d----- Original Message ----- From: "james singer" <islandjim1@comcast.net>

I believe that would be Allan Armitage. He appears to be the series's host.On May 9, 2008, at 7:36 AM, Jesse Bell wrote:Yeh...I sat through one of the webinars on my lunch break. The guy fromGeorgia....oh man...his name escapes me at the moment...but he's got all kinds of books out there and he teaches at the University of Georgia.... (help me outhere...). Anyway - he did one on new varieties of colorful annuals and perennials. It was great. ----- Original Message ---- From: Patricia <pdickson@sbcglobal.net> To: gardenchat@hort.net Sent: Thursday, May 8, 2008 10:27:12 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] AHS webinar It was great. I love sitting in my living room and Dan Hinkley is in his home just talking live to me! You could ask questions via a chat line but no one else can see what you asked. Then after the talk was over Dan answered the questions. He also offered his website. I have one of the plants that he mentioned... a Phormium tenax rubrum. I found it last week at Lowe's..... on sale! I think I am going to love it.
