My two biggest nemeses are Aegopodium podograria (Bishop's gout) and Senecio aureus (Golden ragwort).

When I bought this house 22 years ago the beds were nothing but Bishop's gout (the non-variegated form). I dug out a lot, but it always seems to come back and has taken hold in the front of the house. I'm not sure what to do.

The ragwort was my fault. I saw one in a quart-sized pot and thought it looked so cute, so I planted it in a little corner of the garden. Within two years it had consumed a 30' stretch of the flowerbed and was even beating back the Bishop's gout. It does look pretty in the spring, though.

If I wasn't working or taking care of kids I think I could win this battle, but there are too many hands on my time right now.

Chris
