The seedling is midway in the garden between an upright Jap Maple and cascading Orangeola* (mentioned those in another post). It doesn’t look like either one but possibly some sort of cross??? I found the 1999 order for Orangeola but the other two A.p. varieties on it are one, the Murisaki kiyohime that eventually died and the other, nothing like what I have, which seems odd. * https://www.gardenia.net/plant/acer-palmatum-orangeola-laceleaf-japanese-maple From: owner-gardenchat@hort.net [mailto:owner-gardenchat@hort.net] On Behalf Of Catharine Carpenter Kitty, do the leaves in any way resemble those of your other Japanese maple cultivars? I realize your seedling will not be genetically the same, but you might be able to detect a "family resemblance". My guess it is an Acer palmatum of some sort rather than Acer japonicum which is the full moon maple, but many times referred to a the Japanese maple (it is the one I have). Cathy
