Hi, Ceres. I just realized that I had not responded to your question. I'm going to send Donna a picture of an adult lightning whelk shell, a string of the egg cases they lay, and--on top of a penny--two baby whelk shells that came from one of the cases in the string. The adult shell is about 6 inches in diameter.
