Re: OT - Wonderful web tribute to the Armed forces

I've always planted alliums in the spring...guess I should qualify that they were native alliums.

Thanks, Jesse; I love Alliums. I think I should have been clearer though
when I said "summer bulbs". I want it to be on bulb type plants that are
planted in spring for summer bloom. Are alliums available for spring
planting? I think I'd better check B&BB's spring catalogue to see if
they are.

I've just been told that I am doing a talk at the H&G show in February
on summer bulbs. I have in mind thus far discussing Cannas, Lilies,
Galtonia, Dahlias. any other summer favorites for Z5 anyone would like
to suggest?

Our MGs would not be allowed to use a city park as a project, at least not
the labor involved.

Ours can. We not only have a city park as a project, we maintain the
library beds and the downtown planter boxes as well. Another of our projects
is
providing centerpieces for tables at the soup kitchen in town. I generally
only volunteer for work at the experiment station, my favorite, and manning
our
booth at various home & garden shows.
