I have read that the American gets taller than the Chinese. How tall is your tree? I am loving the bark and the fall color of the leaves. I think it is going to be a wonderful ornamental tree. I put it where I can look at it outside my bedroom window. My favorite view. I love to be outside gardening but I think it is so important to be able to have views of your work out your windows.

Tricia - I have a lone fringe tree (virginicus)that blooms every year without fail. It's about six years old and began blooming the first spring. Wonderful blooms and really nice fragrance. I wouldn't be without one.

Has your fringe tree bloomed or put on berries yet? I read somewhere
that
it needed 2 trees to bloom and that it could take up to 10 years before
it
blooms. I hope that is not right.
