Pam,
Ok... I think I know... we lived in Nederland, TX for about 4 years almost 13 years ago.
Center is really tiny and somewhere near Tyler but further east and south.
Gregg lived in an apartment next to my husband when we first moved to Nederland/ Port Arthur area. He is so talented and I really give him the credit for my total addiction to gardening. He would ride to the lake with us and name all the trees all the way there and all the way home. I think that was the first time I had given any thought to what a horticulturist was.

Tricia - Kemp is a bump in the road (pop. 1133) between Dallas and Athens. About 45-50 miles SE of Dallas and 29 miles West of Athens. We're right about where North TX, East TX and central TX meet. NW end of Cedar Creek Lake (which is why it's always bloody humid here). We're at the very southern end of Kaufman County. Does any of that help?? Yes indeed I have heard of Greg Grant and enjoy his articles very much. He writes for Texas Gardener magazine a lot.
Not sure where Center is, will look it up when I get home....

you ever heard of Gregg Grant? He is getting pretty well known of the
gardening circle. He is from Center is that close to you at all?

Sure in the Panhandle. Lots colder up there in the winter, zone 6 I think. But about the same as here in the summer, just no humidity. The 2 1/2 years I lived in Midland was the only time I didn't have to battle oily skin. It is DRY now. Gets an average of 15 inches of rain a year and most of it comes down in two or three storms. I used to go running after work (about 4:30) and it would be 105 degrees but you never really felt hot. It was interesting.

It is snowing in Texas?!?
Wonderful.... hear your moisture is heading this way, storm to be here
tomorrow night (wonder which way the arch will fall this time LOL!). I was
hoping it wouldn't happen, have a late night dinner meeting and don't feel
like dealing with the snow on the way home... grumble, grumble.
Donna
Sounds like a good time was had by all! Cruise does sound nice about now, but w/ a killing freeze coming tomorrow night, I'm going to be plenty busy here. Will have a million four o'clock carcasses to get rid of for sure. BTW, it's 30 in Lubbock w/ blowing snow flurries.

Wedding was great. Jean looked like a fairy princess. So did the flower girl......we danced and ate and drank champagne. My dress MUST be taken to the cleaners......had a great time. Talked to the bride today, she's ready for the honeymoon which starts on Saturday. They're going on a cruise, I'm jealous. A
