I tried to grow a few in situ from seed last year
(annual Salvia -- it was scarlet). They turned out pretty
well, I expected them to reseed but they didn't.
I also have an ornamental perennial sage -- it's purple and
not terribly fragrant.
What turned out to be a big hit to the hummers
was the pineapple sage! It's still in bloom, though all the
hummer friends have long gone for the winter.

I saw a small bottle of cologne and asked if it was for sale. She said,
