Re: Guess everyone survived

We had my mother in law, 2 of our daughters, our son, 1 son in law & 5 grandchildren. Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes & gravy, the token cranberry sauce, challah rolls, Waldorf salad, relish tray, forgot the pickles, broccoli, and aplle cranberry crisp & vanilla cheesecake with raspberry huckleberry cherry sauce. I was able to restrain myself to small portionsm but later splurged with a slice of cheesecake & topping.
Skipped the shopping crunch this am, ate some leftovers. So far I've not worked, low census yesterday & on call today. We'll see about the next 3 days. We have little debt, so told the supervisor, I'd just as soon be the one to stay home, if someone else needs to work. Will probably look at stuff I got for the grandkids & start wrapping gifts tomorrow, maybe start thinning my book collection.
Pam the zinnia seeds arrived. Thanks again
Judy B z 6 Idaho, not as cold,rainy today.

Supposedly it's going to rain late tonight and tomorrow. Not holding my
breath, but I sure hope so. Had to two-hand the trowel into the ground
yesterday and today to plant bulbs. Then had to use the handle to break up
the solid clods and drop some compost in each hole. Very tedious indeed.
Raked like crazy (just in case it does rain), spread compost over the veggie
bed, did some rock work and burned all the dead stuff in the burn barrel
yesterday since there was zero breeze. Collected rose petals for potpourri
and harvested any seeds that wouldn't run away from me. Gave all the roses
and shrubs their fall dose of greensand, plus coffee grounds for the
camellia & gardenia. Whew. No wonder I'm snoozing in my recliner.

Rained here all day- winter has officially arrived. Went and saw the
new Harry Potter- enjoyed it. Was much better than the last one. Need
to go wrap gifts to mail out tomorrow. Feeling extra lazy between the
tons of food I ate yesterday and the gray rainy weather today...
