garden update

We have had the most beautiful fall in years...bright colors everywhere
that have stayed for weeks. Last night was the first hard
frost...finally got my basil...yesterday afternoon, I picked some
protected branches to put in a vase of water to use for the next few
days. My "volunteer" butternut squash is in abundance...I've been giving
it away.

I think I am ready for a nice winter, though. We haven't had one in
three or more years and I would love some cozy time in doors working on
quilting projects.
