I would suggest the Arnold Arboretum if you are into woodies - it is
the oldest public arboretum in the US. Mount Auburn Cemetery is one
of the first examples of the "garden cemetery" movement. If you can
drive some 25 miles southwest of Boston, the "Garden in the Woods" in
Framingham has the largest collection of wildflowers and native
plants in the Northeast. It is owned by the New England Wildflower
Society.
