Or Feliway also helps and that you don't actually have to get into the cat, you can just spray it is their environment. (and it doesn't smell like anything to people after a couple of minutes)

It's a distillation of herb & flower essense and you just put a few drops in their water dishes. When I started doing that with Little Bit she finally came out of hiding. There is still some hissing and spitting going on but the oldest one doesn'thavetoo many problems with them - I suspect it's because she likes food so much she won't avoid them at chow time. The orange kitty still isn't terribly happy about the whole thing but she's calmed down some. Ithinkthe kitty pheromone stuff has helped a little but it wasn't a miracle cure. Adding a third litter box and making sure they're clean hasreallyhelped (but not 100% cured) our problem with that. If it weren't for orange kitty I think it would be much easier. The kittens have their appointment for spaying next week, hope thatgoeswell. Almost 5 months old and they are still insane. Any door opened, even the dishwasher, has a kitten trying to get to the other side.Theyinsist on trying to sit on our shoulders, they are certain every paper product is meant to be shredded, and despite continual attacks withthespray bottle they just KNOW that one day we're going to let them eatoffour dinner plates. And of course, they're very cute. She does sleep in the bathroom though- so that the other cats and I all get some sleep.I'vedone the thing where you put the new cat in a separate room from the others, and then change that room everyday. This way the whole house smells like the new cat, before any of the existing cats ever see the new one. Supposed to make the new comer less threatening since they don't smell new anymore by the time they are face-to-face. I do think this works the best from my experience. With my kitten I just didn't have time or will-power to do this, so we just let everyone have todealwith this. Which after a week or so, worked out too. Helps that this was a kitten though. Moe is an adult, and very friendly. DH would really like to, but we already have three, ages 10 to 2. Allpreviousintroductions were kittens. Any hints on integrating adult cats inahousehold? We will also be gone each month (for varying timeframes)Jan - Mar, so there will be times we will not be there to mediate. Now, off to Colorado Springs to share the holiday with two or our daughters.
