Whoa! Have you been following the saga of St Anthony, ID, mayor Bill Beck? He resigned and in his resignation speech he told the good townfolk they were too stupid to understand and the city council they were too stupid to work with. Sounds like Bill might have a problem... but he may also be right local government being what it usually is.

They are told through a dozen venues to NOT put leaves in the street. Our pickup is next week so they won't be on your curb lawn strip long enough to do any damage. But no, they pile them in the street along the curb and block the flow of water to the sewer. Oh yeah, then there's the ones who pile them ON the sewer grate. I just got in from raking rivers of sodden leaves out of both sides of the street and several houses down and out of 
the grates to get the flow going again.

Not a particularly beautiful day, but the upside is that, at 60 degrees, I could open the house again to air it out. I love fresh air. And since it's raining, none of the idiots is trying to burn leaves. FRESH AIR! I love it.. It is so rare around here, especially fall-winter-spring. Wonderful -no perfumes, no carbon, no wood burning fireplaces, no nothing. Just fresh air. 
YES, a beautiful day!!!
