I hear ya. My house was beginning to suffer, big time. So I spent 90% of my weekend cleaning (I mean really cleaning) my house and pulling out the fall decorations. Looks pretty good! This week I'm going to take some cuttings of my colleus so I can have them next year. Saving what I can. Ready to get rid of my purple fountain grass because it is not perennial here and I have to dig it up and put it in the garage. My back is too sore to do that this year. I'll find some pretty grass that comes back. I like the low maintenance stuff.

Curious how many of us are lax in the cleaning department during the gardening season?
Personally find myself running and attempting to be outdoors in our
short season. Housework, other than some thing, are on hold till fall
here. Currently my house is a disaster and now that the weather will be
getting cold, a good cleaning is in order.
The weather has been great, but last night it started raining, now
windy, and colder by the minute.... not going to fight the frost if it
does get that low anymore... time for getting ready for winter here...
