Recent. My son sent me a copy that I now can't seem to find. Crawford's a New Mexico garlic farmer; the book's a collection, mostly chronologic, of essays about garlic, garlic farming, garlic marketing, family farms, and so on. Slim paperback; don't know if it's made the used book lists yet.

Sure do, but they don't seem to be as bad as last year, hopoe I didn't
jinxthat. Planted my garlic today, went through the whole ritual, soaked
the
cloves in baking soda water, and then in an alcohol dip prior to
planting,
even fertilized the planting bed. I'm just so proud,LOL. Talk to you
later, Rich

Rich, do you have the Asian lady beetles that move in after the beanssome of the bugs are dead from the frost last week
have
been harvested? Ugh, they are terrible. They bite, smell & leave a
stainif smashed. I understand, after talking with a grape grower/wine maker they are a real problem for them. If I is collected with the grapes they have achgof wine taste. The grower said both he & his son, who are in business together, ate a beetle to know what they taste like. He said they taste just like they smell :-( Yuch Ceres --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT -- No virus found in this incoming message.
