Yeah, but it's still a long-long patch from zone 8 to zone 5, Cathy. Given that the zone 8 is a conservative upper limit assigned by academics, it might be fudged a zone and a half most years, "most" being the controlling modifier. And because palms are bloody expensive--even here in palm land--buying one to try in any zone above, say, 7b would be foolish.
