The detergent that was most effective at killing ticks was 'Clout', soldthrough Costco, in "an amount slightly greater than the manufacture's recommendation for a moderate size load of wash".In contrast, powdered Tide and liquid Heavy Duty Ultra both had about 35% efficacy. http://www.mallorn.com/~lindsey/HowToWashClothesToKillTicks.pdf Chris
