didn't look all that hard... a correct frame, and they just laid on the
topping. Of course, they knew what they were doing... I wouldn't attempt
it!

formica
Oh, the counter........ Well, I selected a simple, inexpensive formica. Craig bought thecut to size from some company. But when he glued it to the counter, ithehad been cut about a foot too short. So he has them cut it again. Wrong again. 3rd time - right length, but he had glued the short one on already, socut a piece from the 2nd try to even it up, then laid the 3rd try overthetop and glued formica to formica. You can hear it crackle and pop asitripples under your hand when you smoothe your hand over it. Hetrimmedtowardthe vertical front piece after applied, and that runs sort of downhillfrontthe corner. But the main problem is that it is an old 1940s style. I fully expected an all one piece counter with curved backsplash and curvedtherather than a 2x4 for a backsplash with clear caulk where they meet. Everything is sharp corners and the end hangs out too far from the end cabinet. (you shoulda seen the huge bruise on my hip when I ran upsteps from the family rm and cut the corner too sharply)facilities
I told him that was all wrong, but he said he didn't have thethisto make that kind of counter. The counter was the last thing in and bycouldtime I just wanted this guy out. He made it plain that he couldn't /wouldn't do the counter the more modern way, so I just accepted it thinking Iget it fixed someday. then I found out how much, so I just gave up.It's"OK", just not right.
