The projected path at 5 AM this morning is farther out in the Gulf than it was at 11 PM last night. And Miami is now almost out of the margin of error [potential] part of the track. At this stage, Charley looked a lot more threatening. The next revised projected path posting will be at 11 AM.

Ivan does look scary; it seems to be headed toward our sun porch, if
not the front door. But I think it's about 24 hours premature to decide
to evacuate. If that decision is made, the next decision has got to be,
evacuate to where? With Charley, everyone who went north ran right into
the storm's path.
At this moment if we do evacuate, I think Miami is our best destination
if Ivan doesn't deviate from it's currently projected path. The problem
with Miami, of course, is that Monroe county--which is all of the keys
from Largo to West--is under mandatory evacuation so a lot of the hotel
capacity will be absorbed [up side is no one in their right mind
vacations in Florida during hurricane season, so there's probably a
glut of rooms to start with].
And, yes, I will take the Power Book.

I'm worried about you, Jim. Looks like Ivan is headed straight for you. Will you evacuate? Of course, I guess it could change course like Frances did. What a season this is turning into, and it sounds like Grenada really got hit hard. My order from Gardino's has been put on hold while they dig out from Frances.
Glad you liked my flower. Wish I knew it's name--I think I got it from Glasshouse Works, so maybe I can find it on their website.
Take care of yourself and let me know how it's going when you have time, okay? Is there anything you can do to protect your plants?

FWIW....
Just opened an e-mail with the projected Ivan landfall as of 11am today.....
Jim- get on a plane and go somewhere! It is way to close to 'where' I think you live...
Actually the landfall is directly on my friends house and yep, if that
model holds for a few more days... they will be visiting me.
