RE: Ivan, new targets?

Of course our first priority is to worry about human loss, but folks do tend
to forget the devastation to the wild life in such situations--unless a
giant alligator is on the loose.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of many nests, Jim. I think sea turtles
are something pretty special, personally. Have they made a "comeback" in
calmer years after an active hurricane season? Do they re-lay a clutch of
eggs if the first has been destroyed in the same year?

A little breezy, no rain to speak of. Biggest impact has been beach
erosion. Waves are fierce, and the county has closed all the public
beaches. Biggest victims will be the sea turtles. Many, many nests have
been destroyed.
