Did I miss something? Did your DH get the job Theresa? Whoo hoo... another member within driving distance! :) Donna-----Original Message-----.I'm sure there are many things that would not come with me if we moved to Iowa- but I bet most everything I grew in Northeast Maine would live there! I would move my rugosa rose with me- as I know it can withstand winter and in fact would probably be much happier in Iowa than Sacramento. I'm sure I'd survive winter (having grown up north of Buffalo), and we definitely get hot here in Sacramento, and you mentioned humidity in summer? Kind of like Washington DC humidity maybe? My hair and skin would love a little more humidity than we have now, but I bet you get more than a little bit. Funny, before I moved to California I always wondered how women on TV got their hair to look so great and stay looking like they wanted it. Well- it has nothing to do with shampoo, curlers, etc. It has everything to do with the climate- while my hair is drier here, it also looks better and behaves better than anywhere else I've ever lived. (Not that the garden cares about my hairdo- which of course is always jsut tied up in a ponytail when I'm outside anyway).
