Hmm, view the plant's name in 9 languages....
Makes me wonder if Mexiksi borslevil means Sacred pepper, Root beer plant, or Eared pepper in Hungarian - or something else entirely.

Speaking of Root Beer Plants, I just received a Root Beer Hyssop by mailorder. And, yes, when I opened the box, it smelled of root beer.

Just got a new plant, hoja santa [Piper auritum]. I'm going to grow in in a large pot because it tends to sucker all around. It's got really attractive, big leaves, which have a peppery flavor and are used in central and southern Mexican cuisine. I'll post a picture when it becomes established.
