Re: new magazine

HI Barb-

I agree completely with your comments also- it is not a depth magazine for sure and does seem to be sponsored by some garden center- but I still got some ideas for plant combinations from it and some helpful info. My expectations weren't too high- so I guess I was happy to get anything of value. As I recall- it was dirt cheap- so I'm happy for now.

Theresa, I am glad you liked it as I got a copy a few months ago and was disappointed. While it was applicable it seemed superficial and also seemed to be hugely sponsored by some garden chain store or manufacturer (can't remember which) that was not around here. ????

I got an offer for a new gardening magazine a couple weeks ago called "California Gardener"- which of course I just couldn't pass up. So, I got my first copy today. Not very indepth, but at least pretty much all the plants are relevant to me, and had some nice tips about pruning climbing roses in this area, and pictures of some new introductions and fall color plants. Shots of the various ornamental grasses and colorful heucheras were particularly appealing. So, we'll see. So far, not bad.
