Trip advice CA Sept 12-20th

The last time I went to California I got the best advice from all of you. I have been invited to my sisters place in Santa Barbara Sept 12-20th. Do any of you have any advice on gardens to see or I would also love to take a watercolor painting class. Any advice this time. I will fly into LAX on the 12th. I looked up Huntington Gardens and that looks wonderful. Any advice on that?
