Thankyou, it's fun and the premiums add a little.
My granddaughter has been entering since she was big enough to draw & pick her own flowers. Usually does well. Must have inherited grandma's eye for which flower looks best ;-) This time of year the garden is starting to look tatty, not much in bloom. Then I walk it with a jar of water & scissors & find a bloom or a hosta leaf or... & am amazed when I sit down to write out the tags at the abundance. I'm glad I don't have Auralie's deer! I like to enter unusual things. This year I got blue on both of the tiny dianthus I entered, and the lamia (dead nettle). We've been involved with the county fair. Ed & I are both department
superintendents. His dept is Vegetables & mine is Needlework. I entered 30
in
Flowers. Several blue, red, & white ribbons and 1 best of class for
Ballerina, a polyanthus rose.
My 6 year old granddaughter entered 3 flowers &
a cake & ? anyway 5 things &
got 5 ribbons. Just got back from the carnival.
Ready for bed.
Tomorrow I'll stay away until 4:30 or so. Checkout is 5-7pm.
Then it's over
for another year.
