Don't be so hard on yourself Kitty, everyone that is on this 'chatsite'
benefits from your knowledge and experience.  As far back as I can
remember you've never failed to give some well needed and excellent
advice to anyone who voiced a problem or concern.  Once again, cut
yourself some slack.  From where I sit you are one hell of a person.

Since I'm a male, my house is the last thing to receive any attention,
just the way I am.  Since my little sister is one of those compulsive
neurotic types (if you're staying at her house and get up in the middle
of the night to use the toilet, she'll make the bed) I always worried
that my house wasn't up to par when she would make one of her infrequent
visits.  We had a talk one year, and both of us figured out that we
visited each other to see each other, not our houses.  So-o-o, cut
yourself some slack; I'm very sure your sister is much more interested
in seeing/visiting with/ talking to you as opposed to inspecting your
home.  Sincerely, and I do mean sincerely, Rich in Z-5 where we are on
the edge of drought.

It's not that I don't enjoy a clean house - I just usually have so

more interesting things to do, and I am constitutionally opposed to
spending time and effort doing something that will just have to be

Your sister must know this about you, and must be prepared for it, so
why knock yourself out.

When Chet retired some years back he declared that since I was still
working a lot, and since I made such a thing about housework, he would
take on those chores. No big deal.  Of course he could handle them
with
his eyes closed.  It was nearly six weeks before he hired a woman to
come in every other week to do the heavy cleaning.  In my opinion,
that's
the best answer - beats any machine you could buy.
