Re: Happy equinox!

I'm hoping Punkin will be home soon. The little darlin's always know how to keep us wondering. Probably just scoping out the territory. My cat Spot got out once when I moved; stayed away for 2 weeks and then just calmly showed up at the door. We looked everywhere and once thought we had seen him not far away. He had his own timetable. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Happy autumnal equinox everyone. Time to start thinking about what we're
going to in the garden this winter I guess.
I did some cleanup this weekend out front. I noticed the pyracantha by the
office window had gotten too big so I went out with my loppers and little saw.
I have enjoyed watching the birds eat its berries every winter but it's a
plant in the wrong place, and too much work to keep pruning it back every
year. So I decided to take it down to about 2 ft high, if it comes back fine,
if it doesn't oh well. Those things are pretty thorny I got punctured a
couple times through my gloves. I got about > of it but the dumpster was
overflowing, so I'll have to get the rest later. Tried using my leaf-flower
as a vacuum and I think it will work, although not incredibly effective. I
need a longer extension cord to get the worst areas. And I shoveled 12
wheelbarrows full of, ummm, stuff out of the sheep pens, that was pretty
tiring.
I could use some positive thoughts for our cat Punkin. She got out of the
house somehow on Saturday afternoon (we think), and we didn't notice her
missing until this morning. She is not much of a lap cat so it wasn't unusual for her not to be underfoot, I feel bad though. It isn't a good sign that she isn't wailing at the front door to come in, a little early to give up hope but
I am fretting.
