Theresa, Cathy, and Judy,
I'm packaging the seed now. Most of it separated on its own from its
silk.
If anyone else wants some, let me know.

Whatever variety of asclepias I have get covered in flourescent orange
aphids. they don't bother anything else and they clearly don't hurt the
plant since it comes back every year only to do the same thing again.
Guess if figured it was some symbiotic relationship. I bet the plants
grow fast enough from seed to flower the same year or following year. i
have a couple that self-sow every year, so get surprised by seeing a
couple plants in new places. If I like them there I leave them, if not
I yank them out easily.
Oh- and I'm sure the silk on the seeds doesn't really matter. it will
disintegrate quickly once in the ground.

I got my plants bareroot so I don't know how long they take from
seed. They attracted some butterflies, but also all kinds of other
pollinators. Once one of the pods got covered w aphids; I just
disposed of the pod since it looked like I had a hundred more.
Another time a pod was covered with little red & black beetles; I
don't know if they were good or bad insects, but their activity did
not look beneficial to the pod so I removed it. Other than that, no
problems.
I'll remove some seed and allow to dry for a few days before mailing.
I don't think I need to remove the silk, do I?

Wow! they are lovely. I would very much enjoy some seeds for this. I
have a yellow, and an orange and yellow asclepias already, so the pink
would be a nice addition.
