FW: mycorrhizae

Title: FW: mycorrhizae
This is from Micronet, a list devoted entirely to mycorrhizal fungi.  I post this partly for the information and partly to let you know the list exists, for those who are interested.

There is a great deal of information available, much of it in very general or older works.  Have a look at general books on mycorrhiza by Harley or the more modern equivalent, Smith, S.E., and D.J. Read. 1977.  Mycorrhizal Symbiosis, Edition 2. Academic Press.  You may have to dig around by genus in those books.  Many of your species were no doubt surveyed by W.B. McDougall in the early part of the 20th century, in various books and papers in Am. J. Bot. and Botanical Gazette.  Many review papers over the years have recapped and updated the old work.  Look for regional surveys, and try searching by genus at the Mycorrhiza Information Exchange (http://mycorrhiza.ag.utk.edu/ <http://mycorrhiza.ag.utk.edu/> ).

This is among the best-studied of geographic areas, and there is no doubt you will find a great deal in your university library.

Can anyone direct me to a website or other resource that describes the mycorrhizal association (ECM vs. VAM/AM) of northeastern tree species?

Thanks,

-Rich
