RE: Garden Writers Event

Hi Carol -
The Regional meeting looks great and I am planning to attend. When I
tried to click as directed to get a PDF of the registration form nothing
happened, so I am hoping you can send me what I need.
A sidebar - I was reading up on the various activities included and
discovered on the Queen Anne Inn site that they have two resident cats.
As I have a severe cat allergy I could not have dinner there - I almost
feel guilty asking this as I think the $135 registration price is very
reasonable given the tours, meals included etc. - however, any chance of
a discount as I will have to find my own dinner (not to mention be
isolated from the crowd, sob!sob!) If this is a very unreasonable
request, just pretend I didn't make it!!

The Garden Writers Association of America is holding its Region VII
meeting
in Nova Scotia for the first time. It will be a weekend full of
interesting,
entertaining speakers, enticing garden tours, fabulous food, and the
opportunity to meet and converse with garden writers and garden
specialists.
Topics include Mind-Boggling Annuals, No 2-4-D for Me, thanks! (Organic
methods), Gardening in Newfoundland, Notable Natives in the Maritimes,
Tissue Culture Technology, Natural Stone Revelations, Reaping the
Harvest
from Garden Clubs and The Endowment of George Chipman.
Guided tours include the new Botanical Garden at Acadia University, the
Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens, the Blomidon Inn garden project, Grand
Pre
Vineyards, and Tangled Garden. Other highlights include a banquet at
Blomidon Inn and wine tasting at Grand Pre Winery.
Registration is $135 (Canadian) and includes everything but
accommodation
and breakfasts. The deadline is June 30, 2002.
