Re: Rototilling - What is the alternative

When I referred to herbicides in no-till farming, I wasn't referring to market gardening, in which I'm sure organic methods can indeed be effectively used. I was referring specifically to corn fields (for corn used as cattle fodder, not sweet corn for human consumption)  of 20 acres, 50 acres, 100 acres, and more. Unfortunately, in my area of the country, the use of herbicides in these fields is widespread, and I'm not sure, given the size of the fields, that there is an organic no-till solution for these farmers. If there is, they certainly aren't using it! (I'm telling you what I'm witnessing here, not what I'm doing!)
