Re: P. Allen Smith - up here in Canada, we don't know him. Of course, we
don't get out of our igloos much, and the constant blizzards disrupt our
cable reception. I am using the royal "we" in this instance. The next
Martha? Presumably, the dear man won't also be having to date Anthony
Hopkins, and wear baggy clothes to conceal his burgeoning physique!

My opinion about endorsements: they can put you in a box. One can't always
hope to ride the float of whatever particular product - I happen to know
David Tarrant (personal friend o' mine) here in Vancouver. He absolutely
will not endorse a product, because if he does, there are thousands of
markets that will snap shut immediately, and never open again to him in his
lifetime. 

My one cent - Canadian money - worth 55% less than your two cents. :)
