Re: sungold tomatoes
Even here in the Deep Southeast
where everyone grows tomatoes if nothing else, Sungold is a
winner. I've grown it for several years in my informal trials with great
success. No pests to speak of, not prone to blights, performed well with
minimal irrigation during serious drought. Do let fruit go orange - they are
sweeter than any other if you will wait that extra day or so. My original
source was a wholesaler who lets me try seeds and report back, but I see
them in Kitchen Garden, which also has 'Robustini' Peppers (pepperoncini)
and 'Bambino' eggplant. I recommend both very highly - if I can grow them
here, you can grow them anywhere since both only take about two months of
hot weather from transplant to delicious maturity. If you are serious about
hot peppers, if Habeneros and Scotch bonnets are your favorites, don't miss
'Caribbean Red Chile Peppers' in KG also.
Ah, veggy talk.
