Lawn Webinar and ActiveX installation

Just a quick note to those of you who attended the lawn webinar put on by GWA.  In order to access the webinar,  I had to agree to an ActiveX control installation. (I note I didn’t require it when I checked earlier and my system worked fine with their test page but…)

This morning while running my system checks and getting ready for the week to come, I noticed there was a new file folder in My Documents section (I’m running wXP) called “WebEx”.  A file was inside.  I have a “thing” about what goes into my doc section so I decided to delete it.  Easier said than done.

To make a long story short, if you want to delete this folder from your system, it is necessary to go to the Settings window and uninstall the webx file.  Then use Windows Explorer to delete anything else.  It will not delete until the webx software is gone. It will also not delete using the normal cut and paste/drag and drop or right click/delete commands.

You have to use Windows Explorer to bounce this baby after you uninstall the software using the Settings menu.

If you’re not concerned about this – then there’s no problem.  As I said, I have a thing about software that invades my working space and fights me when I want it out of there.

Must be another cup of coffee out there somewhere on this bright but soon to be rainy Monday morning.
