Re: Brooding about relationships in the industry

First bias- I never write about a plant that I haven't seen in situ  or grown myself no matter how glowing the press release and testimonials.  The only exception is something that seems outstanding for some reason and then I'm always very careful to state that the information is based on a press release and should not be considered and endorsement.  I think that's really critical as our readers..rightly or wrongly...consider us to be experts.

Second bias- when the press release arrives in late May or early June about a new garden product all I can wonder is "where in the world is their head at?"  Do these PR people think we're on two day deadlines?  How about letting us know about new stuff in March so we can work it into the gardening season...not after everything is planted.
