They're about 3 -4" wide. I don't know for sure if they
leave ruts in soft soil, although I think they would. I
garden in containers or raised beds - the raised beds are
never stepped on or 'rolled on' - heaven forbid! :)

It hasn't been a problem for me, I can drag the front end
around easily enough. (Not while sitting on it, though.) I
attached a rope to the front, and to go to and from the
garden, I pull it along by the rope behind me.
I can lift it without difficulty.
I have joint problems: arthritis. But I'm not confined to
a wheelchair.
I forgot to say: it's not good for an extremely tall
person. My husband is 6'2" and if he sits on it, he's too
close to the ground to have room for his legs which are
jammed up under his chest.
I'm 5'4" and it's perfect for me. I cannot comfortably
reach the ground while sitting on it, but I garden either in
containers or raised beds, so it's just perfect for me.
