I can't imagine not being able to type either -- I seem to "think" with my 
fingers. Whenever I try to dictate I simply go blank.  

And I sympathize about the pruning shears -- I run into problems every spring 
too, and I've learned to take my kitchen timer outside, set it for 15 
minutes, and at the end of that time, I stop and do something else for awhile, then 
repeat the process.  I've found that this helps, not only with "pruning 
wrists", but with "trowel elbow" and "spading knee", all of which I've had run-ins 
with!
