Re: My Monet Weigela


Late checking in here, but I wanted to see if there was life in 'My Monet.' 
There isn't.  I have tried and tried with that plant and no dice, here. I've 
tried several exposures and I think it just may be too hot and humid here. 
That's too bad, since Weigelas are generally so tough and unkillable, and I 
really liked the foliage. It may be that its slow growth doesn't allow it to 
outgrow the local biota.

The 'Dream Catcher' Kolkwitzia, also from Proven Winners/Color Choice is 
putting on a marvelous show right now.  It suffered through our drought and 
record high temps, and some unusual (for us) chill. Has anyone else been 
growing it?  I'll have to get out and check local availability, because I'm 
sure it will be a hit here.
