San Jose CA

San Jose has a pretty famous rose garden. It is near the Rosicrucian
Museum which is also worth a stop both for the mummies, Rosetta stone
and their gardens. http://www.sanjose.com/attractions/rosicrucian/

San Jose cleaned out the Guadalupe River flood zone and put in a
ribbon park - pretty close to the airport in the courthouse district.

The U.C. Santa Cruz Arboretum is great if you are going to be on that
side of the mountain.

In the suburb of Saratoga there is a Japanese Tea Garden, Hakone.

Our old neighborhood, Willow Glen, is a pleasant place with lots of
flowers and restaurants where you can eat outside - 20 minutes from
the airport -

There are also Chinese, Mexican and Japanese Friendship gardens -

For a walk in the woods that transforms you into another place, Castle
Rock Park can't be beat - misty woods, huge boulders, walking trails

It all depends on the amount of time you have, and how adventuresome
you and your companions are that day.
Martha - moved here after 20-years in San Jose.
