Re: selling from your website
A view from the customer side. My first experience with using PayPal to
pay for a purchase was a bad one and I avoid using it for that reason.
They are difficult to get in touch with when there is a problem, customer
service reps are not particularly well-trained, and they accept no
responsibility for correcting errors. When I was double-billed, I was
told, "The payment goes instantly, you have to get the vendor to give you
your money back. There's nothing we can do."
There are no insurances for the customer. I naively thought I could
appeal to PayPal get my money back if I didn't get my merchandise. It
turns out they don't vett their vendors and I was out $84. It was an
expensive lesson, but now I only buy books through Amazon and other items
from name-brand stores or catalog outlets.
