Hi, TC!

I think the shift in environmental awareness is coming at people from all angles and if a backyard gardener is missing it, they must be living in a cave.  But just this past week when speaking to a garden club, someone asked me what an organic fertilizer was, so there's a lot of education to be done.  In many cases in CT, the parents are getting the message as it's being brought home from their children via lessons and science projects at school. And that IS a good thing.  

On the other hand, most of our friends and neighbors are part of the epidemic of "little yellow signs" that sprout every spring regardless of the environmental messages, concerns and getting their water from wells on their own and neighboring properties.  The economic impact of selling chemicals is too great to arrest this. As much as I want Paul Tukey and the rest of us to succeed in convincing people to turn away from these toxic treatments (lawns, pests, diseases), the garden center shelves are a testament to the enormous effort we still have ahead of us, albeit positively.
