TC,
When all else fails, I recommend that you start by Googling "Ruth  
Stout."  There is a great deal of material on here, including a  
Wikipedia article by her brother, Rex Stout, author of the Nero Wolfe  
mysteries.  Then read her several books and experimenting with her  
"no work" gardening techniques.  They work--if you are not a fanatic  
for tidiness.
