Re: Getting My Website to SHow Up On Google
Lorraine,
Here are a few things that have helped me:
1. Be sure that the name of your pages on your website or blog are about the subject you want to show up on google. In your case, you should have a page that has "self-watering-containers" in the page name.
2. Have the terms most likely to be searched (in your case, "self-watering containers" and "making self-watering containers") at the top of the web page and repeated below. But you can't just write "self-watering containers" over and over - it has to make sense. So a banner at the top could say something like "Learn how to make self-watering containers" and in the text below there could be sentences such as "It's easy to convert your favorite pot into a self-watering container." etc.
3. Write blog posts or articles for other websites about your subject and include a live link to the self-watering container page. Google is a popularity contest, so to speak, and the more places you show up on the web with your subject, the higher you'll rate on google. For example, since many garden clubs and horticultural conferences post my name and website when I'm speaking there, and since I've done the above, my name ranks high when you google "gardening speaker". All incoming links (live links to your self-watering page) will help. Write articles for other websites looking for content, and request live links.
all the best,
C.L.
