Re: Thanks!

Tomatoes, of course! As the great Texas folksinger Guy Clark puts it, "there are two things in this world money can't buy/that's true love and homegrown tomatoes." 'Brandywine', 'Sweet 100'.

Sugar Snap peas! 'Sugar Ann' to be exact. There is nothing more delicious than a fresh-picked, sun-warmed pod!

Basil. So many good ones, though 'Genovese' is a favorite. Fresh in salad and pesto, potato salad; cooked in so many sauces.

NOW I wish it was summertime! Sigh!

Thanks everyone for your overwhelming response! I have enough threesomes
and quotes to do a couple of blogs.

The reason I asked for only three is that a man in the audience, where I was
speaking last Saturday, asked me, "If you could only plant three edibles,
what would you plant?" That silenced me for a bit, which is unusual. I had
to really think about what I could not do without.
