Reader Beware: Glyphosate_Suppression_of_Cytochrome
Jeff and Duane,
I just read this article
http://www.nature.com/news/investigating-journals-the-dark-side-of-publis
hing-1.12666 the other day and am appalled to find out that legitimate
researchers are being duped into paying to be included in
not-so-peer-reviewed "science journals." Similarly, it appears that
anyone with any agenda can get published in certain open access journals,
or create his/her own.
This is very distressing to garden communicators who are trying to
present science-based articles on sustainable gardening practices to the
general public. Talk about a fact-checking nightmare! If the scientists
don't even know that their work has not really been subject to
peer-review, then how are we to figure that out?
Regards,
Lois
