[GWL]: GWL Directory

I have finished putting together the GWL Directory and will begin emailing
it to respondents starting tomorrow.  Our list numbers 215, as of tonight,
and 70 members asked to be listed in the directory.  That is about a  32
percent response.  Some general comments:

1.  I will send the directory to each person as text in the body of the
email, plus as an attached Word file.  If you cannot open the attached file
or don't want to (can't blame you with all the virus attacks), just click on
the attachment and hit the DELETE button.  It's gone.  The reason for this
delivery format is that there was much confusion among some as to what is
text and what is a Word file and if their version of Word would open the
attachment, etc.  With two formats, you will get one version, at least.

2.  The biggest problem with keeping entries short was the bio or
affiliation line.  Some sent volumes.  I edited the materials so that
industry affiliations would fit on two lines or less.  There may be some
bruised egos, but please realize that I did not intend to slight anyone.  I
only edited.  We are all proud of what we do and want to share our expertise
with others.  Please do!  Lon Rombough has asked repeatedly if members would
please introduce themselves to the whole list with biographies and frequent
updates on what is new in your professional life.  We all would like to hear
about others' accomplishments, etc.  Also, many of the list members have
significant signature lines after their names.  Sig lines are great ways to
advertise your web sites, accomplishments, books, etc.  Simply put, there
was not enough space to list the books people have written, the societies
they are members of, etc.  Share these with us on the list please.

3.  If I have made a mistake in your listing, email me OFFLIST at
doreenh@ticon.net  I will post the corrections to the main list later.
